You hear the price before we start
We find out what is actually wrong first, tell you what it will cost, and wait for your go-ahead. Nothing gets opened up on a guess. Nothing lands on the final bill that was not on the quote, and if we find something else once the car is apart, you get a phone call rather than a surprise at the counter.

Bring us the one nobody else could fix
Plenty of the cars in this bay arrived after somewhere else guessed, replaced parts that were fine, or handed the car back still faulty. On-board diagnostics plus a mechanic who has met the fault before is usually the difference. Tell us what the last shop already tried and we will start from there instead of charging you to repeat it.

You pay for the work, not for guesswork
We will not always be the cheapest quote you get, and we will not pretend otherwise. What you get is a price that matches what was actually done: parts listed, labour listed, and the reason for each. Take the quote away and think about it if you want to. It will still be the same price when you come back.

Foreigners get the same price as everyone else
Two customers have gone out of their way to say this in public, which tells you it is not the usual experience. There is one price for the job here and it does not move with your accent or your passport. If you are new to the country and do not know what a repair should cost, ask, and we will tell you what the parts cost and what the labour costs.

The car leaves safe, not just quiet
A noise can be silenced without the fault being fixed, and that is the cheap way to hand a car back. We would rather tell you the brakes or the suspension still need doing, and what it will cost, than let you drive away on a repair that only sounds finished. What can wait, we will say can wait.

Welding and fabrication in-house
Chassis work, brackets, exhaust, rust repair and body panels are done here rather than sent out. That keeps the cost down and it keeps the car in one place, so nobody is waiting on another shop to finish before yours can carry on.

You are dealing with the owner
The owner is in the shop, not behind an office door, and is usually the one who talks you through the diagnosis. That is why the reviews on this page keep mentioning a person rather than a company: there is nobody to be passed along to.
